Experimental Painting Tutorials

Step-by-step guides to bring your creativity alive with paint and passion.

Step two

Once the paint is on the canvas and water has been applied, use the air to move the paint across the surface. Carefully control the air pressure and the distance of the compressor hose to guide the flow.

Step three

Splash paint onto the canvas precisely where you want the colors to appear. Then apply water over the paint to encourage natural blending and fluid movement.

Step one

Drip paint onto the area where the tree will appear. Lift one side of the canvas and allow the paint to flow downward under gravity, creating natural lines that form the tree trunk and branches.

Step four

Repeat these three steps, applying water, air, and gravity layer by layer until the artwork reaches its final completion.

Mosaic Art

Mosaic art is a decorative technique that transforms a surface into a powerful visual experience for the audience. It is created by assembling broken pieces of stone, glass, tile, or other colorful materials into a unified composition. I had long dreamed of creating a mosaic, and I was grateful for the opportunity to do so while visiting Ethiopia in 2019. During this time, I collaborated with young Ethiopian artists and left my mark on the Ethiopian Palace Project (Andenet Park).

Layering Techniques

Learn how to build depth by layering translucent paints, capturing light and texture just like in my signature pieces.

Mixed media

Before painting, prepare the surface to have the actual texture. Incorporate different materials to achieve the desired textures, then apply paint. Using a combination of oil and acrylic allows for rich, dynamic visual textures.
